Breath test

Helicobacter pylori. The Helicobacter-pylori-C-13- Breath-test can be administered for the diagnosis of a Helicobacter-pylori-infection or to monitor a therapy. After a test substance is administered, the exhaled breath can be analyzed for the presence or absence of the Helicobacter pylori.

To check for functional disturbances such as bacterial overgrowth of the gastrointestinal tract, lactose intolerance, malabsorption of fructose, sorbit intolerance and gastro-intestinal transit disorders, an H2-breath-test is administered. The corresponding disorder can be confirmed or precluded by measurung the H2 content of the exhaled breath.
