Rectoproctoscopy, which is administered with a flexible or fixed device, serves the diagnosis and therapy of diseases of the rectum and the anal area, e.g. hemorrhoids, anal fissures, etc.

The examination is done under local anesthesia and is usually pain free and of short duration.

When should a rectoproctoscopy be performed?
